The Ultimate “Something Blue”

The Ultimate “Something Blue”

Blue Thai Sapphire Cuff Links   Sapphire and Diamond Eternity Band     Blue and White Sapphire Slice Earrings

It’s wedding month, and sapphires from Thailand are the ultimate “something blue.” Three recent pieces celebrate this month’s weddings and anniversaries.

A June bride chose these gorgeous rose-cut blue and white opaque sapphire slice earrings for her wedding. The gemstones are surrounded by 1.36 carats of brilliant diamonds and set in oxidized 18k white gold. These earrings contain nearly 45 carats of sapphires and really make a statement. We won’t reveal the design of her dress, but trust us when we say they will be absolutely perfect. Their sparkle will only be surpassed by the bride’s smile as she says “I do” to the man of her dreams!

This week, a special couple is celebrating their anniversary in St. John.  To celebrate, the husband selected a stunning platinum, diamond and sapphire eternity band. Designed to coordinate with her wedding set, the ring features 2.2 carats of royal blue sapphires alternating with 1.27 carats of brilliant cut diamonds. Stacked or on its own, this ring is timeless, elegant and an everyday joy to wear. Husbands take note – you can’t go wrong with a major piece of jewelry and trip to the Caribbean to make a woman feel like a newlywed all over again!

And let’s not forget the guys! These stylish yet classic cufflinks in 18k white gold with more than three carats of royal blue sapphires are the perfect finishing touch for a groom’s big day. It’s a cliché about bridesmaid dresses but in this case it’s true — the cuff links are an investment and will be worn many times after the wedding!

Thailand is known for their blue sapphires, which are higher quality, larger and available in a greater range of colors than those typically found in U.S. retailers. Second only to diamonds on the industry’s standard hardness scale, sapphires are an excellent choice for wedding and anniversary jewelry because of their durability and endlessly appealing beauty. Found in every color, blue consistently remains the most popular, and can range from navy blue to cornflower. It’s never too early to start planning the perfect sapphire piece to celebrate your next milestone!
